A very successful Mukwonago Competition!
BEAST traveled to Mukwonago over spring break to compete at our second district event. Our robot climbed well and shot fuel even better.
BEAST closed out the qualification matches with a dominant win, securing our 4th place rank. Our mechanical modifications, expanded autonomous capabilities, and strategy adjustments since our Lakeland competition made a big difference during game play. Additionally, our drive team did an excellent job staying composed and communicating throughout the competition.
As the captain of Alliance 3, we selected Team 93 – New Apple Corps and Team 9760 – Cristo Rey Jesuit Trailblazers as our partners. Our alliance successfully competed in 5 playoff rounds, falling just short of the finals! With the number of points achieved at Lakeland and at Mukwonago, we positioned ourselves as a lock for a state bid!

At competition, the team was honored to receive another team attribute award! The Gracious Professionalism® Award celebrates outstanding demonstration of FIRST Core Values such as continuous Gracious Professionalism®, sportsmanship, and working together both on and off the playing field. Our team’s presenters highlighted our Coopertition efforts, specifically our multi-team practice days and supporting other competitions. This clearly made an impact.
That’s not all! Nimish Joshi, our safety captain, was honored to receive the Safety All Star Award!
Nimish said that a large part of his success was due to BEAST’s safety outreach program, which regularly polls other teams at competition. The teams share their “near miss events,” and together we identify improvement opportunities.
And so, our season continues! We look forward to not only competing at state in just a few short weeks, but hosting it as well. And speaking of state…
