More Than Robots: Impacting Our Community
FRC Team 2202, BEAST Robotics, had a busy 2026 off-season, making a real impact in our community!
- STEM Inspiration: We hosted our 11th annual summer STEM Camp for 3rd–5th grade students to spark their interest in FIRST.
- Parade Float: We marched in Brookfield’s 4th of July parade, where the crowd cheered for our float complete with a shooting and scoring robot!
- Mentorship & Training: We supported local FIRST Lego League teams through the FLL Challenge Rookie Quick Start event and have plans for a mock judging event in the fall!

Summer Drive-It/Fix-It : MROC Off-Season Competition Results
Our Summer Drive-It / Fix-It team delivered an outstanding performance at the July MROC off-season competition. What began as an opportunity for driver practice and additional skills development evolved into one of our most successful off-season outings to date.
Our team fielded 2 robots at MROC – our competition season robot, Gary, and our second summer robot – Gollum. Our efforts yielded exceptional results across both entry teams, including two trophies and a forthcoming banner!
- Programming Award – Our Pit Judging team demonstrated deep technical mastery during judge interviews and were recognized with the MROC Programming Award!
- Robot Gary – Driven by rookies during qualification matches, Gary secured an Alliance 6 Captain position! We had our veterans take over to drive Gary far into the playoff rounds!
- Robot Gollum – Driven by our veterans during qualification matches, Gollum was selected as an alternate and advanced to the Finals. Supported by on-the-fly autonomous programming adjustments by one of our students, Gollum and our rookies contributed as a member of the winning alliance!
- Mentor Match – In the event’s signature Mentor Match, we secured a victory; the augmented plaque is now proudly displayed in the Robotics lab for all to admire!
