The team has been busy making improvements to our robot since last month’s scrimmage. But our work doesn’t stop there! We have also been busy collaborating with FIRST Lego League (FLL) teams, volunteering at the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) State Championship, and hosting FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teams for drive practice! Read on to learn more about some of these endeavors!
In an effort to ensure a smooth roll-out of our next outreach activity, we piloted an event where participants engage in four challenges using pre-made LEGO robots and block coding. Our FLL friends assisted in this test-run and provided valuable feedback.
Our Field Team has created an amazing Reefscape Field, complete with the Barge, Reef, and all of the field elements.The Reef was very challenging; it was made by bending each steel pipe to the exact angle required.
In the spirit of Coopertition, we invited FRC teams that lack a place to practice to join us on our field for drive practice. It’s always nice to make new friends and learn more about their team.
Lastly, we hope you will join us and Finn, our Reefscape robot, at our upcoming competitions! We will compete at the Phantom Lakes Regional on Friday, March 28, and Saturday, March 29. This event will take place at Mukwonago High School. Qualification Matches begin at 10:50AM and 9:00AM, respectively.
Our second event is the Wisconsin Regional, and it has moved to State Fair Park this year! Parking is $10/car, and you may enter the grounds through Gates 4 & 5 off of 84th Street. Then, enter the Expo Hall on the north side of the building. This event is scheduled for Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6. Qualification Matches will begin at 8:50AM both days.
