Dean’s List
Our two Dean’s List Nominees will be competing at the Wisconsin Regional as well. Be sure to cheer for Miles Raciti and Sophia Hart-Liepert! Miles has been on the team for two years, and his dedication and knowledge earned him the position of Mechanical Lead. He also stepped flawlessly into the Drive Team Technician role this year. Sophia has been involved with FIRST for four years, two years on an FTC team and two years on BEAST. She excels as our Business Team Lead and helped bring home our recent Impact Award. Please cheer on our previously highlighted Woodie Flowers nominee, Derek Laufenberg, as well!

St Louis Regional
The St Louis Regional was such an exciting event. If you missed it, the team competed against 42 other robotics teams, and after several matches, BEAST Robotics was ranked #1 and maintained that rank for the rest of the qualification matches. As the top seeded team, BEAST Robotics became captain of the #1 seeded Alliance during the playoffs. The team chose to form an Alliance with Team 1756 – Argos from Peoria, Illinois, and Team 5176 – RoboBills from Saint Louis, Missouri.
The BEAST Robotics Alliance made it to the Finals, but lost in the last match of the day. They ended the competition as the 2023 St. Louis Regional Finalist.
But wait, there’s more! The team’s volunteer efforts, outreach and community spirit earned recognition from the judges. The team was awarded the 2023 St. Louis Regional FIRST Impact Award, which is the most prestigious award at FIRST. According to FIRST, “it honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the mission of FIRST”.
The FIRST Impact Award qualifies the team for the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, Texas, at the end of April. The FIRST Impact Award is an incredible achievement for the team as it recognizes years of hard work, and we couldn’t earn it without your support. Thank you to the sponsors, parents and mentors who do so much for our team.
